ACCORDING TO ROGER MORNEAU THIS IS THE VERSE OF POWER TO BE READ DAILY
(my comments are in red)
MATTHEW 27 (Dr. Lamsa translation from Aramaic):
24 ¶ Now when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but that instead confusion was increasing, he took water and washed his hands before the people, and said, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man; do as you please.
25 All the people then answered and said, Let his blood be on us and on our children.
26 ¶ Then he released to them Bar-Abbas, and had Jesus scourged with whips, and delivered to be crucified.
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium, and the whole company gathered around him.
28 And they removed his clothes and put on him a scarlet robe.
29 And they wove a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they knelt on their knees before him, and they were mocking him and saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
30 And they spat in his face, and took the reed and struck him on his head.
31 And when they had mocked him, they took off the robe from him and put on him his own clothes, and took him away to be crucified.
32 And as they were going out, they found a man of Cyrene, whose name was Simon, whom they compelled to carry his cross.
33 ¶ And they came to a place which is called Golgotha, which is interpreted The Skull.
34 And they gave him to drink vinegar mixed with gall; and he tasted it, but he would not drink.
35 ¶ And when they had crucified him, they divided his clothes by casting lots.
36 And they were sitting there and watching him.
37 And they placed above his head in writing the reason for his death: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
38 ¶ And there were crucified with him two bandits, one on his right and one on his left.
39 And those who passed by blasphemed against him, nodding their heads,
40 And saying, O you who can tear down the temple and build it in three days, deliver yourself, if you are the Son of God, and come down from the cross.
41 The high priests likewise were mocking, together with the scribes, the elders and the Pharisees.
42 And they were saying, He saved others, but he cannot save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, so that we may see and believe in him.
43 He trusted in God; let him save him now, if he is pleased with him; for he said, I am God’s Son.
44 The bandits also, who were crucified with him were reproaching him.
45 Now from the sixth hour, there was darkness over all the land, until the ninth hour.
46 And about the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice and said, Eli, Eli, lmana shabachthani! which means, My God, my God, for this I was kept! *
(CHRIST NEVER ACCUSED HIS MAKER OF FORSAKING HIM, EVEN AT THIS HORRIBLE TIME HIS FAITH WAS ROCK SOLID. Note in Dr. Lamsa's Aramaic translation there is no mention being forsaken but "..My God, my God, for this I was kept!"
THIS IS IN PERFECT ALIGNMENT WITH A VERSE REMOVED BY CONTANTINE'S COUNCIL OF LAODICEA
"GOSPEL OF NICODEMAS ...3:10 Pilate said, Art thou a king
then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest
that I am a king: to this end
was I born, and for this end came
I into the world; and for this
purpose I came, that I should bear
witness to the truth; and every
one who is of the truth, heareth
my voice..."
)
47 Some of the men who were standing by, when they heard it, said, This man has called for Elijah.
48 And immediately one of them ran and took a sponge and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
49 But the rest said, Hush, let us see if Elijah will come to save him.
50 ¶ But Jesus again cried out with a loud voice, and gave up his breath.
51 And immediately the door curtains of the temple were rent in two, from the top to the bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks split;
52 And the tombs were opened; and the bodies of a great many saints who were sleeping in death rose up,
53 And they went out; and after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city, and appeared to a great many.
54 ¶ When the centurion and those who were with him watching Jesus, saw the earthquake and all that happened, they were very much frightened, and they said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
Lamsa Bible Online - English Peshitta Translation (NT)
WHO EVER SAID THERE WAS A ROMAN BOWING AT THE CROSS?
(HOLLYWOOD HAS MISLEAD MANY TO THINK THAT THE ROMAN SOLDIERS CAME TO THE CONCLUSION CHRIST IS MESSIAH AS HE LAID DYING ON THE CROSS.
THE ROMANS THAT MOCKED AND ABUSED HIM ONLY CAME TO THAT CONCLUSION AFTER CHRIST ROSE FROM THE DEAD, ALONG WITH MANY OTHER PEOPLE THAT ROSE FROM THE DEAD AND WALKED IN JERUSALEM.
THE ROMAN SOLDIERS WERE PARALYZED WITH FEAR ABOUT CHRIST'S RESURRECTION HAVING WITNESSED IT FIRST-HAND, THEN THE PRINCIPLE JEWISH PRIESTS, OUT OF FEAR, BRIBED THEM TO SPREAD FALSE PROPAGANDA TO SAVE THEMSELVES.)
GOSPEL OF NICODEMUS
CHAPTER X.
1 Joseph's escape.
2 The soldiers relate Christ's resurrection.
18 Christ is seen preaching in Galilee.
21 The Jews repent of their
cruelty to him.
WHEN all the assembly heard
this (about Joseph's escape),
they
admired and were astonished,
because they found the same seal
upon the lock of the chamber, and
could not find Joseph.
2 Then Annas and Caiaphas went
forth, and while they were all
admiring at Joseph's being gone,
behold one of the soldiers, who
kept the sepulchre of Jesus, spake
in the assembly,
3 That while they were guarding
the sepulchre of Jesus, there was
an earthquake; and we saw an angel
of God roll away the stone of the
sepulchre and sit upon it;
4 And his countenance was like
lightning and his garment like
snow; and we became through fear
like persons dead.
5 And we heard an angel saying
to the women at the sepulchre of
Jesus, Do not fear; I know that
you seek Jesus who was crucified;
he is risen as he foretold;
6 Come and see the place where
he was laid; and go presently, and
tell his disciples that he is risen
from the dead; and he will go
before
you into Galilee; there ye shall
see him as he told you.
7 Then the Jews called together
all the soldiers who kept the
sepulchre
of Jesus, and said to them, Who are
those women, to
whom the angel spoke?
Why did ye not seize them.
8 The soldiers answered and said,
We know not who the women were;
besides we became as dead persons
through fear, and how could we
seize those women?
9 The Jews said to them, As the
Lord liveth, we do not believe you;
10 The soldiers answering said to
the Jews, when ye saw and heard
Jesus working so many miracles,
and did not believe him, how should
ye believe us? Ye well said,
As the Lord liveth, for the Lord
truly does live.
11 We have heard that ye shut
up Joseph, who buried the body of
Jesus, in a chamber, under a lock
which was sealed; and when ye
opened it, found him not there.
12 Do ye then produce Joseph
whom ye put under guard in the
chamber, and we will produce
Jesus whom we guarded in the
sepulchre.
13 The Jews answered and said,
We will produce Joseph, do ye
produce Jesus. But Joseph is in
his own city of Arimathaea.
14 The soldiers replied,
If Joseph be in Arimathaea,
and Jesus
in Galilee, we heard
the angel inform the women.
15 The Jews hearing this, were
afraid, and said among themselves,
If by any means these things
should become public, then
everybody will believe in Jesus.
16 Then they gathered a large
sum of money, and gave it to the
soldiers, saying, Do ye tell the
people that the disciples of Jesus
came in the night when ye were
asleep, and stole away the body of
Jesus; and if Pilate the governor
should hear of this, we will
satisfy
him and secure you.
17 The soldiers accordingly took
the money, and said as they were
instructed by the Jews; and their
report was spread abroad among
all the people...
